Hello Dolphins!

Lots of things to tell you this time around...:)

POOL CLOSED
The pool will be closed for about a week while the sand filter is being replaced. Coach Tyler will be doing dry land training from 3:30-4:30 every practice day while the pool is closed. Don't want to lose your conditioning with the big meet coming up!

WINTER GAMES
Our Winter Games is January 28-29. Sign-ups for the meet will be on January 19 and 20 at the pool. A board member will be there each of those days to assist with your entries. Each swimmer can compete in a maximum of 10 events. This is a really fun meet, and the community comes out to support the team.

MOVIE & POPCORN TEAM PARTY
Since the pool is closed, Coach Tyler wanted to have a fun event for the team. On Wednesday, January 18, all swimmers can come to the pool lobby at 3:30 p.m. to watch the movie Dolphin Tale, and eat popcorn! This event is open to the kiddos in swim lessons as well. Should be a blast!

SWIMATHON NEWS
The Swimathon comes right on the heels of the Winter Games! Are you ready to raise some funds for your team? A team Swimathon Kickoff Pool Party is scheduled for February 17. All team members should plan on attending! Prizes will be revealed too...:) Parents, this is our one big fundraiser each season. We greatly rely on the funds that are brought in. Think of ways you can support your child as they raise money for their team. The Swimathon is scheduled for Saturday, March 31. For those kids who are taking swim lessons, you are included in the Swimathon fundraising as well!

SWIMSUIT ORDER DEADLINE EXTENDED
We are waiting to send the swim suit order in, because there are several kids who haven't been here to order them yet.

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

PRACTICES:

Thanks so much to all of you for your flexibility this past week with the pool being closed. Guess what?! It's fixed! Practices will resume tomorrow!

TIME TRIALS:

We are cancelling the Jan. 14 time trial. There are several other events going on that weekend that are providing a conflict of interest, plus, we don't really need to update times.

WINTER GAMES:

Our Winter Games are approaching rapidly! Meet events and meet entry forms will be posted on the board soon. Also, parents, please be prepared to volunteer some time at the games. We rely greatly on our volunteers to keep things running smoothly. You might be getting a phone call from a board member soon!

SWIMATHON:

The Swimathon comes right on the heels of the Winter Games! Time to get prepared to raise some money...remember, the Swimathon is our one big fundraiser each season!

TIME TRIALS:
We are going to hold another time trial before our Winter Games. It will be on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. If any parents want to help out with timing, we would appreciate it! Mark your calendars!

PRACTICES:
Practices will be cancelled on Monday - Dec. 26, and Monday - Jan. 2. Also, remember that practices are from 3-5 during Christmas vacation, with regular practice times starting again on Jan. 4. Swim lessons are still being offered on Fridays at 3 p.m. during the dates of Dec. 19 - Jan. 3, resuming at their normal time of 3:30 on Friday, Jan. 6.

CAPS & GOGGLES:
We have made our caps and goggles order and it should be arriving soon. We also ordered some really cool bungee cord thingamajigs in bright colors, so if your goggles need new straps, these will be available. Hey, Michael Phelps uses them!

SWIM SUIT ORDER:
We are trying to get together a swim suit and jammer order. Coach Tyler has talked to a few of you already. I will be at the pool this coming Friday to assist with anyone who needs help figuring out what size they are and making a list of the kids who need suits.

PICK/CLICK/GIVE:
The Dolphins are once again signed up for the Pick/Click/Give program offered through the permanent dividend. As you apply for your 2012 dividends, think of your Dolphins!

THE POOL/PIZZA PARTY...
was fun last Friday! Congratulations to all the kids who competed at SE Champs! We are proud of all our swimmers!
